Celebrating 10 Years - Maui 2012

Jeff and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary in June by going on a trip to Maui.  It was sure hard to leave the kids.  This is the first time we have left them for more than a night.  I cried as we said goodbye.  Fortunately, we were able to Skype with them at least twice a day and see their cute little faces.  I knew they were in good hands with my Mom.  She took such good care of them and I know they had fun.  We can never thank her enough!

We arrived at the hotel to a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne (Hey, it was a nice thought!). The hotel was just as amazing as it was 10 years ago when we stayed there for our honeymoon.  Our room, however, was even more amazing.  Thanks to Jeff for all of the planning and making sure everything was perfect!  It's all about the upgrades!  We spent the week relaxing and doing whatever the heck we wanted.  We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the hotel every morning.  We spent our days at the pool or beach.  We went snorkeling in Kapalua Bay.  Snorkeling kind of sucked at first until the very handsome local pointed out that I wasn't using my gear right.  He helped me fixed it and I enjoyed snorkeling much more after that!  We visited some of the familiar places like Front Street, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, and Whalers Village.  We drove up to the Haleakala Crater.  We both got a little carsick on the drive up, but it was worth it once we got up there.  It was neat to be above the clouds looking out over the island.   It was cold, just as we had been told.  Yet, for some reason we still weren't prepared!  We went on a few other little adventures and found some neat places.  After being there for a few days, we finally decided to try one of the poolside restaurants.  They had the best chips and guacamole!  Nothing better than dining outside with an ocean view!  Anyway, I'm sure I could go on and on, but I think you get the point...it was wonderful!  Happy 10th Anniversary babe!
