Easter 2009

The Easter festivities started on Saturday morning when we decided to color some eggs. Jeffrey had a lot of fun and Hannah wanted to participate but she (by she, I mean Dad) was splashing color all over the place.

Then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a BBQ and egg hunt with the kids (by kids, I mean Jeffrey and Hannah). We had a delicious dinner and fun visiting with everyone. And Rori made some yummy cupcakes that looked like they came from a fancy bakery. Way to go Ror!

Beware...another cheesy sister picture

Then we went to church on Sunday (by church, I mean Sacrament because Hannah was a monster!). The Easter bunny stopped by when we were at church and brought the kids some treats. Jeffrey got the black Spider Man costume that he has been wanting so bad (I know, doesn't seem real Eastery, does it?)!

Guess who?

My favorite picture...

Then we had Jeff's family over for dinner and another Easter egg hunt. I'm so glad the weather was nice so we could be outside. The kids always have so much fun playing together. It was a great weekend!

Happy Spring!

Cousin Time

Last week my cousin Mindi was in town from CA so we got together for lunch. She has a little girl that's just about 8 months younger than Hannah. This is the first time we have seen each other's little ones in person. Emilia is a happy, adorable little girl! We had fun catching up over lunch and shopping at the mall with my Mom, sisters and Grandma. It was great to see you Mindi and Emilia!

CALIFORNIA

As mentioned in my last post, we took a little trip to California last weekend for Jeff's uncle's funeral. We stopped in Vegas for a night before heading to CA. The kids loved seeing all the "games" as we walked through the hotel casino. When we arrived in CA Jeffrey was so excited to see his cousins. Although we were there for a sad occasion, we still tried to make the best of it.

Since we drove all that way with the kids, we decided to do something fun while we were there. We were just outside of San Diego so we ventured over to Sea World. We spent a good 5 hours there before the kids fell asleep. The first thing we did was hit the Shamu show. We all loved it. Hannah was clapping and cheering. Jeffrey was shouting "SHAMU, SHAMU" hoping to get wet. We did sit in the back of the Splash Zone, but luckily we did not get wet. Some of the other highlights were the sharks and the dolphin show. Here are some pictures from our little adventure...

Vaughan Smith

Jeff's uncle Vaughan recently passed away from complications from pneumonia. Most of Jeff's relatives live outside of the country, but Vaughan lived in CA so we had the opportunity to see him a little bit more. He was at our wedding, we went to one of his horse shows in Vegas, and we saw him a few other times over the last few years. He was a very generous person. We drove to CA this past weekend for his funeral. It was a very nice service. Jeff's Dad spoke and played the bagpipes. Listening to the stories about him and hearing the bagpipes really sparked a lot of emotion for everyone. I know Vaughan will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Girl's Night

We have been meeting for GNO every month for the past 5-ish years (correct me if I'm wrong girls!) and I have never posted anything about it. We just take turns meeting at each others houses for dinner and fun. Occasionally, we go to a movie or out to dinner. March was Angie's month. We missed Amy and Kathi, but here are the rest of us...

Amy just had a baby last week and Tiff is expecting in July. Who's next? Love you girls...look forward to April.

P.S. Tiff, not sure what that green mark is over your face...sorry!
