My Little Darlings

My friend Niki (nikinoelphotography.blogspot.com) took some pictures of my kids a few weeks ago. She did a great job! These are some of my favorites...

The Evolution of our Backyard

Grass and rocks...

Grass, rocks, and trees...

Grass, rocks, more trees, and bark...

Oh, wait! Let's dig a hole for a trampoline...

Jeff came up with a plan (that I wasn't so sure about!) for some new landscaping to go along with the trampoline. It was a lot of work! He had to redo the sprinklers, which meant tearing up and replacing most of the grass.

And the final result...a beautiful backyard!

Jeff did a great job! He is getting a lot of compliments on his professional landscaping skills. And we are having a lot of fun in our backyard!

Swimming Lessons

Jeffrey finished up swimming lessons last week and he absolutely loved it! The first day we went he didn't want to get in or even near the water, which was surprising because we had just spent a week in Florida in the water every day. I think he was nervous because he didn't know the teacher and some of the kids. Thanks to my friend Ashley, he finally did get in and had a lot of fun. I know he loved being in the class with his friend's Parker and Kirra. I was seriously so impressed by how much he learned. By the end of the 2 weeks he was doing or at least trying everything. He had no problem swimming with his head under the water. He started trying little tricks, like back somersaults under the water (and got in trouble by his teacher...lol!). He loved jumping off the diving board. He did awesome! Some random lady there who has been involved with swimming for a long time said, "I can tell he is going to be a really good swimmer!" Well, that's good to hear!

Pioneer Day BBQ!

We hosted our 3rd annual Pioneer Day BBQ for both families this year. Jeff worked his butt off getting the back yard ready (thank you, dear!). Yes, it was done once but we made some changes (pictures to come!). The kids had fun doing bubbles, playing on the trampoline with the sprinkler, and the bouncy slide and just running around being kids. I guess the adults were happy as long as the kids were happy. Add yummy food and fireworks and it doesn't get much better!
