Grayson is ONE!

My little baby Gray turned 1 on April 19th!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone by.  I took him in for his one year check up last week.  He weighs almost 20 lbs (19 lbs. 14 oz.).  The boy just keeps getting taller!  Now he is in the 85th percentile for height.  The poor thing had to get 6 shots and a finger prick.  He was not happy!  Otherwise, he's doing great.  He's doing all of the things a one year old should be doing.  He started taking steps right before his birthday and is now officially walking.  He points and makes sounds to tell us just what he wants.  He gets into everything!  He loves to dance when he hears music.  He loves to play with Jeffrey and Hannah.  He is generally pretty happy, but definitely wants me to hold him a lot.  He still isn't a great sleeper.  He will eat almost anything I give him to try and pushes my hand away when he's done or better yet just throws everything on the floor, including his drink.  He loves to wave and clap and point and show me where his belly button is.  He has such a great smile!  We just love this little guy.

We invited everyone to his monkey party to celebrate.  I asked my cute neighbor to make a banner, a cute birthday sign, some cupcake toppers and a few other little things to make the party special.  Everything turned out so cute.  The birthday boy had a lot of fun!  He did get a little tired and decided to take a nap in the middle of the party.  Eventually, he woke up and we were able to sing happy birthday and let him open his presents.

A little side story: This top shelf came crashing down minutes before the party.  It scratched the wall, broke my lamp and another frame, and scratched the table.  Needles to say, it left a big mess!

Hannah decided to put on some make up for the party!

He just woke up, so it was hard to get him too excited about the cake.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate his special day!

Teacher Appreciation

This week was Teacher Appreciation Week at Jeffrey's school.  We did fun things for the teacher all week.  Monday was bring her favorite drink day, Tuesday was bring her favorite treat, Wednesday was draw a picture of or bring her favorite flower.  We decided on a cute Thank You balloon with flowers instead of real flowers.  The last day was gift card day.  We put together this cute little gift for her.  We got the funky watering can at Target in the $1 section.  We added a vinyl "S" for Ms. Schmidt for that special touch.  Put in some gardening gloves and a fun pink shovel.  Of course, we added a gift card to Kneaders, one of her favorite places.  The cute little card attached said, "THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME GROW!"  Seems appropriate with a watering can and gardening tools, right?  I thought it looked cute.
